June 15 — Houston, We Have No Problems

After cruising through the maze of Houston International, we drove to kinko's, our office away from office. I had meetings with some clients the next day, and we needed to get some printouts ready, etcetera, etcetera. We ended up spending a few days in Houston taking care of business and visiting with some friends.

While there, we went Fuddrucker crazy and overloaded on the World's Greatest Hamburger. Not exactly the optimum fuel for the athlete. A puppy found us and almost made his way into becoming part three of The Extreme Road Trip, bearing the nomenclature, "Roady," but responsibility got the better of our emotions and he instead was adopted by a loving home that wasn't on wheels. BP spent a night playing his favorite game (right next to Monopoly), Silent Marco Polo, in the pool with half dozen 13-year-old girls. We never made it to Wild Bill's, a country bar with a slick dance floor, so sadly we left Houston without shuffling boots in the two-step. But we did get a lot of business taken care of in the big ole city, and we got to hang out with our Texas buddies, however briefly.

Heading back down to Windsurfing Sports in Seabrook to pick up B's harness that had lounged on the kiting beach while we drove away a few days before, we stopped-and-go-ed through the thick traffic of Houston on Thursday evening. All was in order, and we were on our way to Nawleans.
