Kremmling, Colorado

Nestled between rolling 1000' to 1500' hills, alongside the mighty Colorado river, with high-desert terrain, Kremmling is a little known mountain bikers paradise. Due to the high-desert terrain and climate, a lack of trees makes for continuous trailside vistas. Another unexpected surprise to biking the hills around Kremmling is the big game that has made the area famous. It is not unusual to see antelope, elk, moose, and bear next to the trail.

For $2.00 you can pick up a Kremmling Area Mountain Bike Map. This detailed map, includes specific directions for 15 mountain bike trails in the area. These 15 trails are rated on the Bike Map with five ratings from easiest to most difficult. The trails range from 4 to 20 miles in length.

The "whip cream and cherry" of our Kremmling stay was the Red Mountain RV Park. With very reasonable rates, tons of full hook-up sites, hot showers, a public laundry, and the most friendly hosts, the mornings and evenings spent not riding were spared no luxury. The campground is situated just northeast of Kremmling, and has expansive high desert views in every direction. The campground owner, Jeff, was more than helpful telling us about where we could ride and all the beautiful vistas - check in with him for the local scoop.
