Brighton - Big Cottonwood Canyon ![]() Brighton began in 1936 with a single rope tow. Today it is a snowboarding paradise. Brighton was the first Utah resort to open its slopes to boarding and since then it has made a concious and successful effort to make boarders feel at home. With two perfectly carved half-pipes and two well formed terrain parks, Brighton is a snowy playground. In addition, there is an abundance of backcountry terrain and adventurously shaped groomed runs. Adventurously shaped groomed runs? YES! We had more fun chasing each other down the groomed trails at Brighton than any other resort we have visited. The groomed runs off of Millicent chair were uncrowded and with many whoops and natural halfpipe features it left us smiling long after the lifts had closed. ![]() Brighton is also a great value at only $35 for an adult all-day ticket. For $39, they offer an adult super ticket good from 9A-9P. Yes, 12 hours of blissful boarding. And unlike most resorts that have a single run lit for their night session, Brighton gives you 1/4 of their mountain (200 acres) for your nightime boarding pleasure. Brighton also plans to add another hi-speed quad next year. Brighton is definitely the best value for your boarding dollar in the Utah area. Check it out.
