The Canyons - Park City

The Canyons is perfect. Spread out over 7 peaks, and 3,300+ acres (one of the largest resorts in the country), the scenery is amazing. The lift system is perfectly laid out, we never had to unstrap from our boards to push over flats. With five high-speed quads, servicing an impressive amount of the terrain, we were able to rack up the vertical feet. Speaking of terrain, The Canyons has a wonderful combination of intermediate groomed runs, advanced slopes, and backcountry powder. And for the extreme snowboarder, The Canyons terrain park (Painted Horse run) is world-class, not to mention that the different canyons house six "natural" halfpipes clearly marked on the trail map. Ahh...

Ski resorts have an attitude and a feel that permeates their territory. The Canyons felt like home. The lift operators were all smiles, friendly and helpful signs were found on many of the lift towers, and numerous "Have a great day" signs were spotted throughout the day. It was hard not to have a great day. The dynamics of boarding the seven different peaks meant that we were able to find softer corn snow on the sunny side of the canyon and firmer Utah conditions on the shaded side. Our appetites were always satisfied.

After our day of epic boarding, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that The Canyons was offering up celebratory entertainment in their magical resort village. The celebration, consisting of two bands, fireworks, and a torchlight and snowcat parade, was to christen the new Phase 1 additions to The Canyons Resort Village. And what a village it is. Beautiful architecture, reflecting the grandeur of the Rockies, encompassed restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, and magnificent lodging and condominiums. Our experience at The Canyons was in every respect excellent. For your next vacation, we cannot recommend The Canyons more highly.
