Solitude - Big Cottonwood Canyon ![]() Solitude. A resort that fully lives up to its name. Never once did we have to wait in a lift line. But that was only the first advantage of boarding this secluded skier and snowboarder sanctuary. The 1,200 acres of terrain was amazing. From novice runs to wonderful "Utah powder" filled bowls and beautifully groomed packed powder this resort caters to all levels of snow enthusiasts. And for those boarders who want to have that "backcountry" experience but don't like to hike, check out Honeycomb Canyon. Accessible from three of Solitude's lifts, this 400 acres of bowls and tree skiing has untracked powder waiting for everyone. Solitude even includes Utah's oldest and most scenic cross-country ski area, called the Nordic Center, providing more than 20 kilometers of trails for your exploration. ![]() And when you are done skiing, no need to drive down the canyon. Solitude has a European-style village at the base of the mountain with 150 rooms and construction in progress for more. The Creekside restuarant, at the village, cannot be more highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Solitude's slogan says it all: "IT'S YOUR experience. NOT everyone elses".
